William "Bill" Roy Fuller, 63, quietly passed away June 23 at his home in Wickenburg, Ariz.
Bill was born Jan 10, 1946 in Whittier, Calif., to Gordon and Mildred Fuller. The family moved to Prescott, Ariz., in 1958 where he graduated from high school in 1964. Recovered from asthma in the clear mountain air, he began to hike, camp, and ride horseback in the forest near home. His fine voice was heard in the mixed chorus, madrigal choir, and "The Mikado." He played on the varsity tennis team and won the varsity doubles championship with his brother in 1964. He was the school photographer--a skill learned from his father that would later serve him professionally.
Bill entered the Air Force in 1965 and served in Thailand during the Vietnam War. He attended Arizona State University where he pursued a lifelong interest in anthropology and archeology. The business world, however, seemed to intrigue him more than a career of classroom instruction; he left school to create "Telecolor Studios," a photographic portrait company located in Phoenix and Albuquerque.
He eventually returned to his hometown of Prescott and opened "Kwikprint." The business was relocated to Wickenburg in 1987. It was here Bill discovered a true home. He embraced and befriended the community of Wickenburg. Kwikprint grew from the tiny downtown shop on Apache Street to become the beautiful Riverside Plaza building on the bank of the Hassayampa River. Bill was also a member of the Rotary of Wickenburg, the Masonic Lodge of Peoria 31, the Wickenburg Chamber of Commerce (former board member), its Film Commission (vice chairman) and a member of the Downtown Revitalization Committee.
Bill had many interests. He was an excellent photographer and writer. He enjoyed cooking and gardening, exploring the outdoors, and music. In grade school the family endured his attempt at playing the trombone, which he kindly abandoned for the guitar. His fascination with Egyptology and the mysteries of the universe never diminished. Interests in Australia and New Zealand found him on an adventure in Tasmania and Australia with his son Jodon in 2004. Perhaps Bill's favorite fascination was people. Willing to help others if he could, he was outgoing and a good neighbor. Those who knew him appreciated his fun, sometimes quirky, sense of humor.
Bill Fuller is survived by his son Jodon Fuller Markona (Elizabeth), grandchildren Kai and Adrienne, brother George Fuller (Robyn) and many friends.
Bill's life will be celebrated at Ringo's Restaurant at Wickenburg Country Club at 3pm Sunday, July 12. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Rotary of Wickenburg at PO Box 1018 Wickenburg AZ 85358 to fund charitable projects in Bill's name. "Time it was, and what a time it was,
it was...a time of innocence,
A time of confidences.
Long ago it must be,
I have a photograph...
Preserve your memories;
They're all that's left you."
Paul Simon, 1968
