LATIN, Ronald John (Dr.)


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 08/05/2011 Dr. Ronald John Latin, 75, also known as "Ronnie, Ron, Pops or Popa" died Aug. 1, 2011, in Scottsdale. He was born May 4, 1936, in Chicago, Ill, to Louis and Lucille Latin. Ron passionately pursued his love of dentistry for over 50 years. He served as Captain in the U.S. Army and began his own army with wife, Donna and seven children: Kevin, Mike, Tim, Dan, Kara, Bill, Sara, and dog Chewy. Ron is also survived by his brother Jerry, of Sauganash Ill.; sister Nancy of Hingham Maine. "Popa" was adored by grandchildren: Eva, Caitlin, Jack, Molly, Ashley, Emmy, Abby, and Katie (Persquake). He will be missed by his numerous nieces and nephews, who he held close to his heart. A visitation will be held at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Rd. Scottsdale AZ 85251, prior to the service from 8:30-9:30 a.m. The celebration of life to be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3801 N Miller Rd. in Scottsdale. In lieu of flowers, the the family suggests donations be made to causes that were both near and dear to his heart: St Mary's Food Bank 2831 N 31st Ave, Phx Az 85009, or the Dave Pratt Dental Clinic operated by the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Phoenix 2645 N 24th St., Phx AZ 85008. His love, generosity, humor and understanding will be forever missed.
