Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Thursday, August 4, 2011 - Marvin James Kellogg, 95, born March 3, 1916, in Crayton, Neb., parted peacefully July 29, 2011 in Newport, Vt. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Mary Kellogg, and his wife, Bernice Kellogg. Also by five of his brothers: Leonard, Don, Leo, Bob and Everett. Marvin, along with his five brothers, served in World War II. All saw action, and all came home alive. Marvin served with the Army Air Corps on the islands of Guam, Saipan and Tinian. Marvin finished his career retiring from McDonald Restaurant Corp., working for a large franchise owner in Oakland, Calif. He is survived by his four sisters, Nadine, Viola, Gatha, Margaret Jean; and one brother, Dick. He is also survived by his son Don (Kathy) Kellogg, of Reno, Nev.; and his son, Gary (Kathy) Kellogg formerly of Newport, Vt., now residing in Lake Havasu City; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Marvin will be interred at a later date in Sioux City, Iowa. The family asked that any donations made in Marvin's memory be made to Newport Rotary Club for their fine community projects — P.O.
