Mohave Daily News, Mohave Valley, AZ - Published in Mohave Daily News Online from Aug. 4 to Aug. 11, 2011 - Audrey Robinson, age 88, a 26-year resident of Bullhead City, died of cancer on Monday, August 1, 2011, in Bullhead City, Ariz. She lived for a short time at the Davis House. The last week of her life she lived with her son, Rick and his wife, Barb, and was under the care of New Hope Hospice Audrey was born on July 4, 1923, to Ofal and Bessie Marlow in McDonough County, Ill. She was valedictorian of her high school graduating class, and married Fred, her high school sweetheart, in 1942. She was a true American Patriot, calling herself a "Yankee Doodle Dandy" born on the 4th of July. She was a WWII bride, giving birth to her first child while her husband, Fred was in the Army training for the Pacific Theater. Her husband, son, son-in-law, grandson and nephew all served in the military during wartime. Audrey worked as an accountant, retiring from Ajax Hardware in California. She was a member of the Daughters of the Nile, as well as numerous other organizations in Bullhead City. Audrey was a good friend to many, many people in the community, and will be greatly missed by friends and family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Fred Robinson; son, Randy, (who died in a car accident in 1966 at age 18); and daughter, Linda (who died in 1993). Audrey is survived by her son, Rick (Barb) Robinson of Tennessee; daughter, JoAnne (Bob) Westerman of Tucson, Ariz.; son-in-law, Dale Gibboney of LaVerne, Calif.; sister, Elizabeth Shields of Macomb, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Darrel Robinson, Gina Russell, Shawn Armstrong, Chris Gibboney, Jason Gibboney, Michelle Sauer, Ryan Westerman, and Christie Transue; 17 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews across the country. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 5, 2011, at the Masonic Lodge, 2580 Miracle Mile, Bullhead City, Ariz. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Audrey's name to the Mohave Shrine Club, 2580 Miracle Mile, Bullhead City, AZ. 86442 or the American Cancer Society , P.O.
