Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow, Winslow, Arizona Beatrice Lewis July 24, 2011 Beatrice Lewis (71), was called home on July 24, 2011. She was born in Winslow Arizona on April 25, 1940. She attended Rose Mar Beauty School and worked as a cosmetologist for many years. She enjoyed dancing, listening to Mexican music, family gatherings and telling stories. She also enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her grandkids teaching them how to bake and make tamales. For relaxation she enjoyed watching novelas and doing crossword puzzles. Everyone was always welcome in her home and she did her best to make sure everyone was fed. She made them all feel like one of her own children or grand children. She is survived by her children Lana (Jim) Moore of Apache Junction, Kathy Lewis of Tucson, Carol (Jaime) Alvarez, Debbie (Mike) Osuna, Angela Shoupe, Joe Lewis, Loretta (Sam) Short, Michelle (Dickie) Gonzales all of Winslow, Christopher Lewis, Andrea Lewis and Jose Torres of Tucson. She was blessed with 54 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Mary Marquez of Phoenix, Patsy (Bobby) Gonzalez of Winslow, Margaret Alvarado of Tucson, and Jenny Alvarado of Winslow, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. She is Preceded in death by her parent's Jose and Lucy Alvarado, her brothers Sergio Alvarado, Herman Alvarado, Roland Alvarado, her husband William Lewis, her son Marcus Lewis and her grand daughter Nichole Shoupe. Holy Rosary will be recited Tuesday July 26 at 9:30 am at Madre De Dios Church, Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00, celebrant Father Frank Chacon. She will be laid to rest at Winslow Cemetery. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
