Leslie La Verne Laskey, age 86, a 27-year resident of Mohave Valley, died Wednesday, July 27, 2011, in Mohave Valley, Ariz.
He was born on December 12, 1924, to Harry and Marie Laskey in Lowell, Ind., on the farm. He moved to California when he was 29, and worked as a Produce Manager until he retired. He lived there until he moved to Mohave Valley in 1984.
Les served in the military from March of 1946 to September of 1947. He was an Elks member for 32 years. He served as the Chairman of the Board of the Willow Valley Association in 1989. He belonged to the Happy Campers Camping Group from 1985 to 2011. He was a BIG fan of the Diamond Backs.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Marge Eldridge, and daughter, Pam Hayes.
Les is survived by his wife of 40 years, Marilyn; two daughters, Debi Jo Strunk of Fresno, Calif. and Barbara Slaby of Corona, Calif.; stepdaughters, Yvonne Hoffman and Radonna Doughty; stepson Stephen Eidson; granddaughters, Tristyn Burnett-Turner, Jenna Marcia, Cory Ramirez and Kaytee Doughty; grandsons, Charlie Robinson, Tyler Kutsch, Nicholas Doughty, Matthew Doughty, Stephen Eidson, Jr. and Trevor Eidson; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held for friends and family at a later date.
