EBERHART, John Warren (Red)


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, August 09, 2011 John Warren "Red" Eberhart, 88, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Aug. 2, 2011, in Prescott, Ariz. Red was a proud retired major of 21 years in the U.S.M.C. He also had a successful second career in the business world. Red was born in Steubenville, Ohio, to Charles and Francis (Warren) Eberhart. He graduated from Stuebenville High School and later earned a BA in business and finance at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Fla. He was a loving husband to his wife of 65 years, Cynthia; loving father to children Elizabethe (Michael) of California and Ross of Colorado; grandchildren Cynthia (Craig) of Australia, Cpl. Matthew Eberhart U.S.M.C., and Jacob Eberhart of Colorado; and beloved great-grand to little Aussies Calvin and Cameron. Red loved freshwater and saltwater fishing, horseback riding, golfing, and swimming. He was a 32nd-degree Mason, a Sojourner and a Hero of '76. His family wishes to thank the Community Living Center and Heroes Walk Hospice at the Prescott VA Hospital.
