The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, August 09, 2011 Amy Wesselhoft, 50, died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011, in her home in Prescott, Ariz. She was born in LaGrange, Ill., on Oct. 18, 1960, to Anne and Richard Schwerdt M.D. She earned a B.S. in biology from Chaminade University, Honolulu, Hawaii, and was a longtime resident of Sanibel Island, Fla. At the time of her death, Amy was in nurse's training at Yavapai College and employed as a CNA at Good Samaritan. Amy was a quiet, gentle and loving soul who deeply touched people around her and who loved the ocean and her three Labrador retrievers. She is survived by her mother, Anne Schwerdt of Prescott; two sisters, Patricia Givan of Estero, Fla., and Karen Marshall of Prescott Valley; two brothers, John Schwerdt of Tamarac, Fla., and William Schwerdt of Geneseo, Ill.; six nieces and nephews; and her Labs, Dinkins, Eme and Katie. Amy was predeceased in death by her father, her brother David Schwerdt and her husband, best friend and soulmate, David Wesselhoft. Donations in Amy's honor may be made to the Yavapai Humane Society.
