ROCKHILL, Mabel Marie (Sugar)

The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ Wednesday, August 10, 2011 Our loving sister Mabel Marie “Sugar” Rockhill went to sleep in death July 27 after a three-year battle with cancer. She was born May 23, 1957 in Safford, Ariz., and was the seventh child of John D. and Lucille M. Rockhill. She was 54. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Rochelle Rockhill, and nephew Eric Pope. She is survived by brothers and sisters Shirley Donahue; Tammy Hughes; Charles and Riley Rockhill of Congress, Ariz.; John D. Rockhill III of Tempe, Ariz.; and Roxie Rockhill of Anchorage, Alaska; as well as four nieces and nine nephews who knew her as Auntie Smurf. A private memorial is planned, and her remains will be placed in the Congress Cemetery beside her parents. She was very much loved and will be missed. Our special thanks go to Hospice of the Valley for their tender care of our little sister.
