Margy Anne Kemp, known as Anne, passed away at her home in Prescott, Ariz., Aug. 6, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. Anne, 77, was born the second of two daughters to Keith and Marjorie Alabaster Kolhoff in Los Angeles, Calif., on March 22, 1934.
Anne lived most of her life in Southern California, where she raised three children. She married Frederick Stanley Kemp, known as Stan, Feb. 12, 1994. They shared their lives happily in Whittier, Calif., in Prescott, and traveling the country in their RV. Their shared families totaled six children, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Anne had a zest for life and an eye for beauty evident in her many experiences: playing tennis, tap-dancing, playing piano without a lesson, painting, water aerobics with the "Water Babes," singing - she performed with the Adelines - jewelry making, and creating a beautiful home. She loved spending time with family and friends, and going for adventures with Stan in the RV.
Anne worked for Douglas Aircraft in the 1950s, and later she worked in real estate, interior design, counseling and event coordination. In 1988, Anne earned a bachelor's degree in organizational behavior from the University of San Francisco.
As a volunteer, Anne knitted blanket squares for new babies and adults in need. She also contributed her time to YRMC hospital. Anne had a great wit, charm, grace and determination. She generously shared these gifts and a deep, enduring love with family and friends. We hold her sparkling spirit in our hearts forever.
Anne is survived by her husband Stan; sister Nancy Mericle; daughters Karyn Poole and Jenny Young Seidemann; son Douglas Young; grandchildren Jordan Poole, Kathryn and William Young Seidemann and Logan Young; and beloved family friend Carolyn Harris.
