MILLS, Neal Douglas


The Daily Miner, Kingman, AZ - Published on August 12, 2011 - Neal Douglas Mills passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 22, 2011, in Kingman with his wife Maxine and daughter Sydney by his side. Neal was born March 31, 1944, to Stanley and Dorothy Mills in Tacoma, Wash. He was the fifth of six children. Neal joined the Air Force in 1964 and proudly served with the 8th Tactical Fighter Wing at the Ubon Royal Thai Air Force Base, Thailand, during the Vietnam War. He was a Bronze Star recipient. On July 9, 1970, he married Maxine Olson in Las Vegas. After living in San Diego and Centralia, Wash., they decided to make their home in Ramona, Calif., where they raised their daughter Sydney for 18 years. In May of 2002, he and Maxine retired in Kingman. Neal enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, watching football and driving his Corvette. Neal will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Neal is survived by his wife of 41 years, Maxine; daughter, Sydney Mills-Truax; son-in-law, Richard Truax; their children, Dylan, Vincent and Katie Truax, all of Kingman; brother, Les Mills of Banning, Calif.; sisters, Doreen (George) Whitlock, Christy (Dick) Anderson and Shirlene Mills, all of Centralia, and Juanita Mills of Warsaw, Mo. At his request, Neal was cremated. A celebration of his life will be held at his daughter's house. Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home in Kingman handled all of the arrangements.
