Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Saturday, August 13, 2011 - Ruth Eileen Carruth passed away Aug. 5, 2011 in Lake Havasu City, at the age of 82. She was born to Elmer and Ada (Pruett) Shaffer Feb. 27, 1929, in Orange, Calif. Ruth moved to Lake Havasu seven years ago from Apple Valley, Calif. She was one of the original owners and builders of Aztec Motel & Apartments on Swanson Ave., in Lake Havasu. She was also a long time real estate salesperson. Most importantly, Ruth will always be remembered as a loving grandma to lots of lucky kids. Ruth will be dearly missed by her family; sons, Mike Carruth, of Yorba Linda, Calif., and Dan Carruth, of Lake Havasu; daughter, Linda Emrick, of Placentia, Calif.; two sisters, Shirley Deaton, of California, and Marilyn Marsh, of Oregon; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Red Carruth, whom she married July 13, 1944; and her parents, Elmer and Ada Shaffer, formerly of Orange, Calif.
