The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 08/13/2011 Lynn S. Long Lynn was called home to be with the Lord Aug. 2, 2011, after a two year battle with cancer. She died in her home surrounded by her family. She was born Aug. 1, 1954, in Pearisburg, Va. Lynn was employed by Abitibi Papermill, as their occupational nurse for approximately 15 years. After receiving her Master’s Degree, she became a Professor of nursing at Central Arizona College in Coolidge. In May of 2011, she received the Educator of the Year award for nursing. Lynn had a great passion for adventure. Among those, she hiked the Grand Canyon, went white water rafting, and recently visited Antelope Canon in Page, with her family. She had a very strong connection with the Lord and she made several missionary trips to Mexico. Lynn was greatly loved, and will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband. Bruce R. Long of San Tan Valley; sister Rita Pitzer and brother Bruce Shrader both of West Va.; daughters: Gabrielle Ashton, EmiLee Mann; stepdaughters: Jenny Cloud, Julie Lewis, and Michelle Krause; grandchildren: Stetsyn Ashton, Brian Baird, Sierra Baird, Kalli Wheeler, Kaitlin Lewis, Logan Lewis, Mykel Long, and C.J. Krause. She was preceded in death by her son, Bryce Long, and grandchildren: Samantha and Zachary Baird. For all who wish to attend, services will be held Saturday, Aug. 6, at Falconer Funeral Home, 251 W. Juniper, Gilbert, AZ 85233. A viewing will be held from 3-5 p.m. and services will be held at 5 p.m.
