BACKWELL, Mary Louise

Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Tuesday, August 16, 2011 - Mary Louise Backwell, 82, passed away Friday, August 12, 2011 in Lake Havasu City. She was born Dec. 9, 1928, in Surrey, B.C. Canada. Mary moved to Lake Havasu City 17 years ago, coming from Victoria, B.C., Canada. She was a member of American Legion Post 81. She loved her home and garden, and especially enjoyed socializing, dancing and dining out with her husband, James. We all enjoyed a very happy, lovely life together, and she will be sadly missed by all and will always be remembered and loved. Mary is survived by her loving husband, James Backwell, of Lake Havasu City; daughter, Dr. Donna Golding, of Australia; grandson, Father Derrick Cameron, of Canada; stepchildren, Cecilia Arnold, Charmaine Stata and Belinda Backwell, all of Canada. Donations can be made in Mary's name to Hospice of Havasu or the Heart Fund in lieu of flowers. A memorial service will be held at American Legion Post 81 in Lake Havasu City Oct. 15.
