Joseph T. Tutone, 87, passed away on Aug. 15, 2011, in Prescott, Ariz. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on July 17, 1924, to Carlo and Rosalie (Todaro) Tutone.
Joseph attended John Adams High School before going on to Jones College. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1942 and served his country, through World War II, the Korean War and the Cuban Crisis, until 1963 as an aviation electrician. Joseph then worked in Civil Service from 1963 until his retirement in 1983.
Joseph attained numerous commendations and awards throughout his military and civil service career. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and fishing, but especially spending time with his family.
Joseph is survived by Irma, his wife of 66 years; son Chuck (Janice) Tutone; and grandchildren Jennie, Joseph, Branden and Gabe.
A funeral service for Joseph will be 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, at the VA Chapel, 500 N. Highway 89, Prescott, Ariz., with an interment service to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
Hampton Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
