Copper Country News, Globe, AZ Wednesday, August 03, 2011 Joan K. Tollett died on July 30, 2011 at home with her family and friends about her. She was a school bus driver and worked in the warehouse for AJ Schools. She loved people and would help anyone in need. She was a cowgirl who loved her horses and all her animals. She was married to Alton “Buddy Pete” Tollett for 23 going on 43 years. She was preceded in death by her father, William Markham; and her great-grandson, Quinlan Curry She is survived by her mother Barbra Markham; twin sister, Judy Jones (Bill); best friend, Judy Holt; daughters, Bitsy Vaught (Jud), Tracy Butler (Bill), and Sally Clausen; grandchildren Coty Jones, Ashleigh Armocido (John Curry), Amanda Sanders, Jacob Bennett, Matthew “Ely” Bennett, Lane Miller, Samuel “Gus” Miller, Blane Sanders, Jacob Butler, Celeste Butler, Tommi Cornel, and Samantha Mable Inez Wilson. Others she took in as her own: stepdaughters Virgie Sanders, Lori Jones, also Karlene Batchelder, Karen Brake, Jud Vaught, Amber Samons, and Tyra Herron-Smith and others too many to list. She was baptized in and attended the First Baptist Church of Superior. Memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011 in the upstairs of Los Hermanos in Superior.
