William Clawson
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Wickenburg Funeral Home for William P. Clawson, well known retired Wickenburg police officer, who died October 4 in Memorial Hospital, Phoenix. He was 67 years of age and had been in ill health for several months past.
The Rev. Bert Follmar of the Calvary Baptist Church conducted the final rites Sunday and burial followed in the Wickenburg Cemetery.
Mr. Clawson retired February 28, 1966 after nearly 14 years of continuous services on the police force, serving as patrolman, for 10 of those years and this last four on the force as desk man.
He was born in Shelby County, Ohio and lived in that vivacity until 1940 when he moved to California. He later lived in Oregon and then moved to Wickenburg in 1947. He joined the police force in August 1952.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen; two daughters, Annette of Wickenburg and Mrs. Don Lundy of San Bernardino, Calif.; his mother, Mrs. Fred Clawson of Sidney, Ohio; two brothers and two sisters out of state and two grandchildren.
