Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona November 16, 1967, page 20 James McPherson James Laurence McPherson, an early day resident of Wickenburg, died November 9 in a Martinez, Calif., hospital where he had been taken from his home in Antioch, Calif., Elks Lodge service were held at 8 p.m. Friday, November 10 followed by services Saturday morning in the Higgins Funeral Chapel in Antioch. Burial was in the family plot in the Union Cemetery, Brentwood, Calif. Mr. McPherson, a geologist, was born September 26, 1983 in Hagler, Nebraska. At the age of 12 he moved with his parents to the West Indies where he received his education. The family moved a great deal because of the nature of Mr. McPherson's work. He lived in Wickenburg prior to 1930 when he moved to California. He was a charter member of the Wickenburg Elks Lodge and attended the First Presbyterian Church here. He is survived by his wife Lu B.; two sons, Col. Robert B. McPherson, Washington, D.C., and Donald Lee McPherson, San Jose, Calif., and a daughter, Mrs. Lu Tullif of Livermore, Calif. Twelve grandchildren also survive.
