Wickenburg SUN, Wickenburg, Arizona January 28, 1949 Pioneer Called – Mrs. Rhoda Nohlecheck of Wenden Dies here Mrs. Rhoda Hatch Nohlecheck, widely known pioneer of this area, died January 24 at Community Hospital after a short illness. Mrs. Nohlecheck came to this part of the country from New York in 1911 when she settled at Wenden and had lived in that vicinity since. She was part-owned of the Critic, a rich Copper mine at Cunningham Pass near Wenden, and had several other mining interest. She was also associated with the cattle business. An accomplished pianist, Mrs. Nohlecheck has studied under some of the great teachers of the times and once played on the stage at Carnegie Hall in competition with the famous Paderewski. Christian Science services under the direction of Mrs. Frank Crozier will be held at the Wickenburg Chapel Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Burial will take place in San Diego, Calif. Survivors include two sons, Ned C. Buchanan of Wenden and Wm. J. Buchanan of Flagstaff.
