Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona March 30, 1951 Elderly Mother of local woman died enroute here to live. Mrs. Marion Francis Lord, age 79, who was being brought to Wickenburg by her daughter, Mrs. Fred Leisering, to make her home here was stricken 40 miles east of Amarillo, Texas, Tuesday morning, March 20, and passed away in the Northwest Texas Hospital there last Saturday morning. The body was brought to Wickenburg where funeral services were held at the Wickenburg Chapel Wednesday afternoon of this week and burial took place in the Wickenburg Cemetery. Rev. Billie Pate of the First Baptist Church officiated. Mrs. Lord was a life-long resident of Missouri. She was living in Lamar when she left, with her husband, George W. Lord and Mrs. Leisering for Wickenburg. Mrs. Lord had been afflicted with arthritis for the past 25 years. Besides her husband and Mrs. Leisering, she is survived by a son, James E. Lord of Kansas City, and a granddaughter, Cletus Barnes of Sacramento, both of whom came to Wickenburg for the funeral.
