Ernest V. Hovey, 66, of Dewey, Ariz., born Feb. 7, 1945, in Chico, Calif., passed away Aug. 18, 2011, in Prescott, Ariz.
Services with full military honors will be 1 p.m. Sept. 16, 2011, at the Prescott National Cemetery, Prescott, Ariz.

Ernest Verne Hovey, 66, of Dewey, Ariz., died Aug. 18, 2011, at the Bob Stump VA Medical Center in Prescott.
Mr. Hovey was born Feb. 7, 1945, in Chico, Calif. to Mary Louise Hovey (formerly Barker), while his father was a P.O.W. in Germany.
He attended Altus High School in Oklahoma, and then graduated his senior year from Cordova High School in Rancho Cordova, Calif. After high school, he attended junior college in Sacramento, Calif., before joining the United States Air Force, where he retired from Luke Air Force Base in Litchfield Park, Ariz., as a Master Sergeant in 1985.
He enjoyed watching science fiction movies and playing cards with his family. He enjoyed evening walks with his wife in the park they lived in. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his mother and father, Mary and Ernest of Mesa, Ariz.; three children Stephanie, Paul and Sheri; and three grandchildren Timothy, Mason and Jessica.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Hovey.
Niche side service with Military Honors will be at 1 p.m., Friday, Sept. 16, 2011 at the Prescott National Cemetery, Prescott.
