Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona April 6, 1951 Accidental Death of Former Local Youth Saddens Friends Here Residents of the Wickenburg area were shocked and saddened by a tragic accident last Saturday which took the life of Otis Holdridge, 17 – year – old Phoenix youth who lived here during 1946 and 1947 when his father, Burt Holdridge, was district manager of the local CALAPCO office. Otis attended seventh Grade at the Wickenburg Elementary school, leaving in May, 1947, when his family moved to Phoenix. The youth died from the effects of a bullet wound, inflicted when a .22 rifle carried by his friend and fellow assistant scoutmaster John Inderrieden, also 17, was accidentally discharged. The two were on a camping trip with several other Boy Scouts near Cave Creek dam north of Phoenix. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning in St. Mary’s Church, Phoenix, with burial in St. Francis cemetery there.
