The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, August 24, 2011 Ruth Louise (Clarke) Sandall, 98, of Prescott, Ariz., died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011. She was born in Detroit, Mich., on Feb. 27, 1913. Ruth completed her B.S. in chemistry and M.A. in education from Wayne State University and went on to teach science and math for more than 25 years in the Detroit school system. She married Alvin Sandall in 1961. After moving to Arizona in 1969, Ruth was a charter member of hospice and a Gold Lady volunteer for the Lodge. During her life, Ruth has touched and enriched many lives with her kind and charitable nature, inspiring and supporting many to achieve their goals. One young man whom she helped with college tuition said that the most important thing to him was cards of encouragement Ruth sent throughout his college career. She changed the lives of so many young people. She said since she never had children, she wanted a lot of young people in her life. Ruth greatly appreciated her many friends at Las Fuentes. She is survived by a niece; grandnieces; and a grandnephew. A memorial service will be at Las Fuentes in Prescott, Ariz., 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011.
