Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday of this week at the Liberty Methodist Church near Buckeye for Walter B. Nowlin, brother of Tillman Nowlin of Wickenburg and a resident here in the 1940’s when he and his brother operated the Nowlin Bros. Dairy.
Walter Nowlin, age 80, died March 2 in the Memorial Hospital in Phoenix. He moved to Gila Bend from Wickenburg where he operated a trading post, later moving to Buckeye.
A native of Georgetown, Tex., Mr. Nowlin came to Arizona in 1918 and was employed by the Santa Fe railroad at Jerome Junction. Years later he moved Wickenburg.
He was the first master of the Buckeye Masonic Lodge.
Masonic graveside services were held in the Louis B. Hazelton Memorial Park in Buckeye.
Surviving, in addition to Tillman Nowlin of Wickenburg, is his wife Effie, a son, McLin of West Palm Beach, Fla. And another brother Bryan of Clarksville, Ark.
