The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 08/26/2011 Harriet Louise Hladik Sturtevant Gensler, 89, died Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, at her home in St. Johns. She was born Aug. 7, 1922, in Creighton, Neb. to Edward Hladik and Alice Hecht Hladik. Harriet was a retail clerk for Safeway for 20 years. She was a wonderful person and enjoyed going anywhere with her husband. Together they visited every state in the union, except the 13 colonies. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Myer Gensler of St. Johns; son Richard (Lynn) Sturtevant of Santa Maria, Calif.; daughter, Carol (Dave) Garsha of Calif.; sister, Ruth (John) Tucker of Arizona; numerous nieces and nephews; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Harriet was preceded in death by her parents and two daughters: Mary and Barbara. No services are planned. Burnham Mortuary of St. Johns handled arrangements.
