Marjorie "Margie" Jeannette Cantrell passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, at the Kingman Regional Medical Center, with most of her immediate family by her bedside.
Margie, as her friends knew her, was born Nov. 13, 1936, in Cochran, Ga., to John and Ruby Davis. Margie had one sister, Pat Beddingfield, and one brother, Robert Davis, both of Macon, Ga.
Margie attended the University of Georgia before moving to California. She married the love of her life, Tilford Cantrell, on June 20, 1965, in Las Vegas. They moved to Kingman together in 1979.
Margie was an administrative secretary for the City of Kingman Parks Department for 20 years. She was a past president of the Professional Secretaries Association, a member of the Arizona Women Making History, and a fixture in any parade in Kingman.
Margie loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was a pleasure to know and will be greatly missed. In some way, she touched the lives of everyone she ever met. She is survived by her husband, Tilford of Kingman. They had three children together, Emmett Beasely of Tulsa, Okla., Tilford C. Cantrell of Kingman (Linda) and Robert Cantrell of Dallas. She also had eight grandchildren, Brian Beasely, Laura Beasely, Rita Cantrell, Jorie Cantrell, Kayla Cantrell, Kylie Cantrell and Cade Cantrell. She is predeceased by grandson, Jake Beasely.
A memorial service for Margie will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at the Kingman Foundation/Masonic Temple, Bank Street and John L Avenue.
