Margaret Kirk (August 15, 1919 - August 21, 2011) was born to Swedish immigrants who homesteaded on Garland Prairie near Williams, AZ.
Margaret and most of her nine siblings were born in Flagstaff. A quiet woman with great perseverance, Margaret delighted in animals, nature and family. Her life's work included raising three children in a logging camp at Happy Jack, AZ (and cooking for the loggers), helping raise one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter.
Her husband of 52 years Allen Kirk died in 1992. Margaret is survived by children Dr. Les Kirk (Cynthia) of Tucson, Dennis (Joyce) of Golden Valley and Phyllis (Danny) of Bagdad, AZ, five siblings, eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be sent to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St. Phoenix, AZ 85014 or www.hov.org/donations in memory of Margaret Kirk. Family and friends will gather in Williams to celebrate and honor Margaret's life with a memorial and dessert feast.
