HERNANDEZ, Julia (Lita) *

Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Saturday, August 27, 2011 - Julia Hernandez passed away on Aug. 21, 2011 in Lake Havasu City at the age of 101. Julia, also known as Lita to her grandchildren was born on July 30, 1910 in Mexico to Roy and Coincha Gillian. Lita was raised in California, spending most of her life there. She was a strong and independent woman. Lita never learned to drive so she took the bus and when the bus was not available, she would walk. She was also a very loving and kind woman who adored her family. Lita lived in Lawndale, Calif. until 14 years ago when she moved to Lake Havasu City to be near her son Fred. Lita is survived by her son Fred Hernandez, six grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Services will be held at a later date at Victor Valley Mortuary and Memorial Park in Victorville, Calif.
