Stephen Oliver Redacre, Jr., 85, from Jerome, passed on Sunday, August 21, 2011 in Cottonwood, Ariz. He was born June 4, 1926 in Mishawaka, Ind., to Mildred (Serrene) Redacre and Stephen Oliver Redacre.
He held multiple bachelor degrees, including one from Baylor University and U C Berkeley. He was a minister, educator, and baker. He taught at Capuchino High School in CA in the 1960s.
He founded the Jerome Humane Society when he moved to Jerome in 1978. Steve loved poetry, literature, music and all animals.
He is survived by a niece, Lisa Coleman, her husband John, and their children, Jonathon, Jessica and Jillian in Kansas.
There will be a brunch/potluck for “Friends of Steve” on Sunday September 4th at 10:30 in Jerome at Haven United Methodist Church.
