John Dean Armstrong passed away Aug. 24, 2011 in Lake Havasu City, at age 87. He was born to William and Pauline (Carpenter) Armstrong May 22, 1924, in Fairview, Okla.
John joined the Army during World War II and trained as a Bombadier. On April 25, 1947, he married his beloved bride Mary Louise Schoettler, and together they made Lake Havasu their home eight years ago. He worked as an engineer for GTE in Southern California for 35 years. John loved to travel, was an avid fisherman and had a commercial pilot’s license. John loved and served Jesus Christ, and he was a member of Stonebridge Christian Fellowship.
John leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Mary Louise Armstrong of Lake Havasu City; sons, James Lee Armstrong of San Diego, Randall Jay Armstrong of Freedom, Wyo., and Stephen Dean Armstrong of Lake Havasu City; daughter Cindi Lou Patton of San Bernardino, Calif., and Laurel Ann Loop of Riverside, Calif.; brother George Allen Armstrong of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
