Nancy Ann Schalk, Our Beloved Mother, died Thursday, September 1, 2011. She was born to John and Lillian Schalk on October 26, 1927 in Fort Collins, Colorado.
She had a beautiful life filled with the love of her children. Nancy graduated from Mills College in 1949 with a BA in European History and Government. She received her MS in Home Economics from the University of Nebraska in 1965. She received her Doctorate of Education at Texas Tech University in 1985. Nancy has lived in the White Mountains since 1997.
She is survived by her children: Ted Barton (Terri), Dan Barton and Jean Barton; granddaughters, Alana and Tess; step-granddaughter, Bryanna (Adam); step- grandson, John; step-great-grandsons; Devin and Bradoc; brother, Tom Schalk; nephews; Steve and John; nieces: Claudia, Karen and Susan.
Memorial services will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Owens Livingston Mortuary-White Mountain Chapel, 320 N. 9th Street, Show Low, Arizona.
