The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 09/09/2011 Cecelia Anna Maslovar Hattaway, 90, died Monday, Sept. 5, 2011 in Eagar. She was born Feb. 4, 1921, in Anaconda, Mont., the daughter of John Maslovar and Minnie Beach Maslovar. Cecelia enjoyed sewing, cooking, and working for the U.S. Forest Service in Young for many years. She will be remembered for her work ethic; working until she was 85 years old before retiring. She was also known as G-Mom because great-grandma was too much for the little ones to say. Cecelia is survived by her son James Hattaway of Winchester, Calif.; daughters: Doralee Thomassie of Larose, La., Donna Slade of Eagar, and Peggy Wilson of Newport News, Va.; brother George Maslovar of Claypool; sisters Betty Howell and Bonnie Perkins of Claypool; Eva Waggoner of Mesa; and Joyce Ward of Calif.; 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Hattaway, son-in-law Philip Thomassie, Sr., grandson Philip Thomassie, Jr., and three sisters: Ellen, Stella, and Susie. Funeral services were held Sept. 8, at the Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of Eagar. Graveside services and Interment will be held at a later date at the Pinal Cemetery, Serbian Section, Central Heights. Burnham Mortuary of Eagar handled arrangements.
