MENDEZ, Ernesto (Ernie)

Crystal Rose Funeral Home, Tolleson, Arizona Ernesto "Ernie" Mendez, formerly of Tolleson, AZ, entered into life October 17, 1948 in Esperanza, Texas and entered into rest April 6, 2009 at his home in Phoenix, AZ. Due to severe complications of Diabetes. He was preceded in death by his parents; Juan and Delia. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years; Susan Mendez, his children; son David preceded him in death, son; Ruben (Lorena), daughter; Esther (Fernando) Barraza, daughter; Jennifer Robinson, sisters; Rachael, Lupe, Mary, Gloria and Juana, grandchildren; Maria Isabel, Christopher, Carmelita, Cortney, Jose, Armando, Ruben Jr., Michael, Chris and Cinthia, great grandchildren; Carissa, David, Alexia, Jordan, Chris Jr., Jose Jacob, Jayden, Jeremiah, Luis Jr. and Ariana, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was proud to serve as a reserve Police officer with Tolleson PD and Maricopa County Sheriff's office for over 25 years. He worked as a chef for Phoenix General Hospital later John C. Lincoln for 30 years. He worked for Arizona Dept. of Corrections Florence Prison and Federal Corrections until retirement. Visitation 5:00-8:00 pm, Monday, April 13, 2009 at Crystal Rose Funeral Home 9155 W. Van Buren St., Tolleson, AZ. Services 10:00 am, Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at the funeral home with interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery 10045 W. Thomas Rd., Avondale, AZ.
