Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Saturday, September 10, 2011 - Lillian Marie Cook Jan. 14, 1930 — Sept. 6, 2011 Lillian Marie Cook went to be with the Lord Tuesday in Lake Havasu City. She was born Jan. 14, 1930, in Riverdale, Ill., to Charles and Marie Cook. Lil worked for Illinois Bell Telephone Co. for 35 years, starting as an operator in Riverdale and retiring as an assistant staff supervisor in 1982. Following her retirement, she moved to Lake Havasu City. She was a member of the Eagles, American Legion, London Bridge Optimist Club and Mount Olive Lutheran Church. Lil was an avid reader, liked to travel and loved her trips to Laughlin. Lil leaves behind her sister, Alleen Howes, of Schererville, Ind., as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers, Charles and Roy. A visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. A celebration of a long and happy life for Lil will be at Mount Olive Lutheran Church at 10:30 a.m. Monday. Pastor Matt March will offer words of comfort and inspiration. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to go in Lil’s memory to Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 2170 Havasupai Blvd., Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403.
