Lawrence "Larry" Underwood Jr., 52, of Kingman went to a better place on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, after a lengthy illness. He is the son of Betsy Virtue of Kingman and Lawrence Underwood Sr. of Colliers, W.Va. He was born Jan. 7, 1959, at Weirton, W.Va., and attended school in Brooke County, W.Va.
Larry leaves behind three children, Toni Underwood of Follansbee, W.Va., Antonette (Aaron) Deller of Steubenville, Ohio, and Zachary Underwood of Wintersville, Ohio. He is also survived by three sisters, Betsy (Mark) Faulkner of Fredericksburg, Va., DeEtta (Donald) Burris of Colliers and Rosemary Underwood of Orlando, Fla.; and one brother, Troy Underwood of Colliers.
Larry was a Navy veteran of eight years. He was a Correctional Officer at the Lakeland Florida Correctional Facility and later he was a Correctional Officer at the Arizona State Prison in Kingman.
Interment will be at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nev., at a later date.
