The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 09/15/2011 Wayne Foster, 31, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, in Scottsdale. He was born January 13, 1980 in Whiteriver to Esther Cody. Wayne was raised in Carrizo. He attended Kicking Horse Job Corps in 2000, where he received his high school diploma at Two Eagle High School in Pablo, Mont. (Sept. 2000), and received his certificate in Forestry Technician (Dec. 2000). He returned to Whiteriver, where he worked with the Fort Apache Hot Shots, then returning to school in Chicago to receive training as an iron worker. He worked in Springville, Nevada and San Diego, Calif. as an iron worker. His passion and devotion for fire fighting brought him home to become a Crew Boss for the Fort Apache SWFF. He leaves behind his loving family: his parents, Esther and Kenneth "Scott" Foster Sr.; a son, Talan Foster; daughters: Talia Foster, Ashton Foster, Emily Foster; brothers: Kenneth Foster Jr., Levi Cody, Clinton "Froggy" Cody, Tyrell Luz; and sisters: Sheila Bonito, Marla Gatewood, Charlena Ethelbah, Bessie Cody, Mildred Atene. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Robinson Foster Sr. A two-night wake starts at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 16, at his residence (115 Corduroy Court) in Carrizo. A home funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, at the family residence in Carrizo with Pastor Brian Warwick officiating. Interment will be at the Hilltop Cemetery in Carrizo. Silver Creek Chapel Mortuary of Whiteriver handled arrangements.
