Crystal Rose Funeral Home, Tolleson, Arizona In Independence, Louisiana on the eleventh day of January 1958 Debra Ann Richard was born. She was the seventh child of Isiah and Beatrice Matthews. Debra was baptized as a young child at Beach Grove Baptist Church in Clinton, Louisiana and became a member of Pleasantview Baptist Church after moving to Phoenix in 1977. She earned a B. A. Degree in communications and public relations from Arizona State University. She was employed by and retired from American Express. Debra is survived by her son Christopher Waldon and her two grandsons Jaidon Waldon and Jaylen Waldon. Also left to mourn her passing is her mother Beatrice Matthews ; four brothers Issac Matthews (Neta) Phoenix, Robert Matthews (Pat), Georgia, Kelvin Matthews Utah, Joseph Walker and James Carter Louisiana; two sisters Ivie Hayes (Jess) and Linda Jackson ( Bobby) Phoenix. One brother in law Charles Johnson and one Aunt Ella Mae James (Harvey), also a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Isiah (Scrap) Matthews, one brother Roosevelt (Bo) Matthews and one sister Irma Jean Johnson. Services 11:00 am, Monday, June 8, 2009 with visitation starting at 9:00 am, at Pleasantview Baptist Church 4922 S. 15th Ave., Phoenix with interment to follow at Resthaven Park Mortuary and Cemetery 4310 E. Southern Ave., Phoenix, AZ
