MORGAN, Thais Elizabeth

Norvel Owens Mortuary, Flagstaff, Arizona Thais Elizabeth Morgan (October 4, 1951 - September 8, 2011) Thais Elizabeth Morgan, 59, of Flagstaff, passed away September 8, 2011 following a long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Born in Port Chester, New York, Thais was educated in the East, earning her Bachelor's and Master's degrees at Smith College, and her Ph.D. at Brown University. She was a lifelong scholar of literature and a professor at ASU in the English Department. Upon retiring from ASU, Dr. Morgan moved to Flagstaff in the early 1990's. She assumed the leadership of the local Multiple Sclerosis support group, which became a large network of friends engaging in many community activities and events. Thais also served on the NAIPTA Committee on Accessible Transportation in Flagstaff from it's inception in 2008. Thais is survived by her mother, Mrs. Barbara Morgan, of Stamford, Connecticut.
