Earnest Andrew Lee of Chandler, Ariz., passed away on Sept. 14, 2011. He was born in 1921 in Seymour, Texas.
He moved to Arizona in 1940 and went to work at the copper mines in the Globe/Miami area. Mr. Lee served in the Army during World War II with Patton's Third Army. Married in 1944 to Mary Fink, he raised a daughter and two sons. He worked for the copper mines for 44 years as well as having his own repair business, E.A. Lee and Son.
After his wife, Mary, passed away in 1973, he was remarried to Emma McKee. When he retired from the copper mines they enjoyed traveling for several years before settling down in Prescott Valley, Ariz., Emma passed in 2005 and he moved to Chandler, Ariz., to live with his daughter and oldest grandson. He was an avid fisherman in earlier years, and recently enjoyed assembling jigsaw puzzles and watching Western movies.
He was a much-loved father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his oldest son James Andrew Lee, his wife Mary Lee, his great-grandson Thomas Richey and his wife Emma Lee.
He is survived by his daughter Dianne Patterson of Chandler, Ariz.; his son Duane (Carol Ann) Lee of Franktown, Colo.; grandsons Laurin Richey of Chandler, Ariz., Earnest (Rhonda) Richey of Dickinson, N.D., Christopher (Cassandra) Lee of Page, Ariz., and Andrew (Samantha) Lee of Page, Ariz. He also leaves nine great grandchildren.
