Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, AZ Wednesday, September 21, 2011 Angela R. Tewksbury, age 85 of Globe, Ariz. passed away on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011 at Carmona Care Home in Phoenix, Ariz with her children by her side. She was born in Globe, Ariz. on Aug. 2, 1926, the daughter of Dionicio and Rosa (Lopez) Ruiz. Angela graduated from Globe High School in 1946. She had worked as a medical transcriptionist for Dr. Charles Bejarano medical office and was retired. She had been a member of the Globe School board for 17 years and also the Copper Mountain Behavioral Health. Angie was passionate about children and their education. Because of this passion she served on the Globe School Board for many years. Angie was also community oriented and served on many community boards. Angie was also named the Arizona Silver Belt’s Woman of the year in 1969 for her contributions to her community. Angie will always be remembered by many nieces, nephews, church family and community friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dionicio and Rosa Ruiz; her brothers, Dave Ruiz, Sam Ruiz and Nick Ruiz and Ignacio Ruiz; and her sisters, Mary Albo and Mena Navarro. Angela is survived by her children, Barbara (Dave) Tewksbury, Bernice (Scott) Schuhmann, Taryn L. (Dave) Tewksbury and her son, James ( Renata) Tewksbury, Jr.; her brother, Frank Ruiz of Globe, and her sister, Rosemary L. Ruiz of Yorba Linda; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the Divine Grace Presbyterian Church, 305 W. Live Oak Street in Miami, Ariz.
