Ardyse Ann Bown, a 33-year resident of Lake Havasu City, passed away in Bend, Ore., where she had moved to live near her daughter, Georgia since the passing of her husband in 2009. She was 85 years old.
She was born in Brooklyn, Iowa, to Samuel and Hessie Holland. Her family moved to Oskaloosa, Iowa, where she met her future husband, Donald. They were high school sweethearts, and after World War II, they married Aug. 5, 1945, in California. There, they raised their three daughters, and she worked for May Co.
Ardyse Ann and her husband moved to Lake Havasu in 1976. She was a member of Lake Havasu Presbyterian Church, where she had been a deacon. She enjoyed her friends and activities with the church. Ardyse Ann and Don were active in Havasu Campers, where she is missed by many friends. She was a fan of the Diamondbacks baseball team. As a former member of TOPS, she was voted queen. She and her husband were active in volunteering for London Bridge Days. Along with her husband, she traveled extensively throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and the Caribbean Islands. She was a wonderful, generous and loving mother, wife, grandmother and friend. Ardyse Ann will be greatly missed.
Ardyse is survived by daughters, Georgia Robles, of Bend, Ore., and Cristy Stevenson, of Mt. Vernon, Wash.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by Donald, her husband of 64 years; and daughter, Vicki Buell.
A celebration of life service was at Bend Villa Chapel in Bend, Ore.
