Edith Maria Streicher passed away on Monday Sept. 5, 2011 in Lake Havasu City at the age of 92. Edie was born on Nov. 27, 1918 in Stuttgart, Germany to John and Gertrude Hodok.
Edith spent her early years growing up and attending school in Germany. She moved to Ashtabula, Ohio where she started her own business, a small business convenience store. It was at her store where she met Carl who was a regular customer. Carl, who was recently widowed, and Edith became good friends and were married on Sept. 27, 1967.
Edith and Carl moved to Lake Havasu City in 1970 where Carl opened his practice specializing in Ophthalmology and ear, nose and throat conditions. Edith became his office manager until his retirement 1980.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years Dr. Carl Streicher who passed away on Dec. 30, 2008. She is survived by her step-sons Carl W. (Sally) Streicher of Carlsbad, Calif.; Donald R. (Barbara) Streicher of Estero, Fla. and James F. (Sandy) Streicher of Naples, Fla. as well as grandchildren Brian, Carl, Cheryl, Craig, Greg, Kerry, Mark, Maureen, Mike and Tom.
