Funeral Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m.; viewing will be one hour prior at Flagstaff Federated Community Church, 400 W. Aspen Ave., Flagstaff, followed by burial in the Masonic Section of Citizens Cemetery. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, AZ Sunday, October 30, 2011 Guifford W. Moore, age 85, passed away at the Aspen House Assisted Care Home on Saturday, September 24, 2011, in Flagstaff Arizona. He was born February 7, 1926, in Upland California to the late Horace W. Moore and Veneta Morrow Moore. Guifford attended public schools in Chino California and graduated from the University of Kansas in 1952, with a Bachelor of Science in Business degree. Guifford served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean War, he was on Intelligence officer on the Aircraft Carrier U.S.S. Coral Sea. Later he was Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Marine Corp with the rank of Captain. On April 15, 1953, Guifford was united in marriage to Georgia M. Ginther at the Methodist Chapel in Hayes, Kansas. In 1959, Guifford moved to Flagstaff working as a Richfield Oil Company Distributor and later as a Conoco Jobber until his health declined in the late 80's. Guifford was successful in business. "he never met a stranger- he could talk with everyone! Guifford was a 47 year Perpetual member of the Flagstaff masonic Lodge Ne. 7, F & AM, the Federated Community Church, a life member of the American Legion and the veterans of Foreign wars, El Zaribah Shrine, the Elks Lodge #499, Tucson Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Order of the Easter Star #4 and a Lifetime Member of the University of Kansas Alumni Association. Services were held at the Federated Community Church on September 29, 2011, with interment in the Masonic Section of the Flagstaff Citizens Cemetery. Military Honors were provided by Flagstaff veterans Group. Guifford is survived by his wife of 58 years, Georgia, nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. He was a predeceased by his parents and his brother, Quentin. We wish to thank not only those who cared for Guifford, but also for the many friends he valued throughout his life's journey.
