Steven Craig Favour, 57, was taken suddenly from his family on September 23, 2011.
Steven was born on October 18, 1953 in Phoenix, Arizona to Georgia and Sid Favour. After multiple jobs in construction and as a rodeo cowboy, he moved to Payson in 1981 where he first opened Signature Taxidermy Studio in 1983. He moved his business back to Phoenix in 1987, and then relocated in Flagstaff in 1990. Steve was a renowned taxidermist and business man for over 30 years and was well known for his talent, creativity, service and tremendous work ethic from his clients throughout the world. Steve was an exceptional man with exceptional talents.
His love for the outdoors was second only to his love for his Savior, family and friends. He was always willing to go the extra mile for all who needed him, no matter the time, place, or task. Steve was a long time contributor to numerous wildlife conservation organizations and held many roles as master of ceremonies and auctioneering, raising money for all of the organizations he loved. He was a professional bull and saddle bronc rider, and an all around horseman and cowboy.
Steven was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend to all who knew and loved him. Steve is survived by his loving wife, Heidi; his mother Georgia McCormick of Phoenix; his children Christopher (Shelley) of Flagstaff, Jamie of Phoenix, Billye, Destiny, Alyssa, and Johnathan, all of Flagstaff; his brother Bob (Jean) of Phoenix; his sisters Linda Thompson (Dairriell) of Kingman, and Joy Moore of Phoenix. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren Samantha, Stevie, Emily, Dylan, Tristan, and Brendan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Steve is proceeded in death by his father, his older brother Bill, and his nephews Jake and Bobby.
Steve was a part of numerous Christian denominations throughout his life. In 2003, he was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and has served in numerous callings in Flagstaff. Services will be held Wednesday, September 28 at 10 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Stake Center located at 625 East Cherry Avenue in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetary in Phoenix on Wednesday at 4:00.
