Rosetta Amanda Maggert Newman Tary, 93, of Grandview, Texas, a retired LVN, left this earth for a better place Thursday, 25 Aug 2011. She died with Alzheimer's.
Rosetta was born April 11, 1918 in Miami County, Ohio, to the late Forrest and Alice Maggert. She married and outlived Joe Newman and Nap Tary. She raised three sons as a single parent. At 57 she entered LVN training and graduated top of her class a year later. She worked 10 years for Arlington Memorial Hospital before retiring. She was always quick to smile, help others, read a book and work in her organic gardens.
Survivors include two sisters, Grace Sanders and Eunice Pemberton, both of Ohio; a brother, Emmit Maggert of Ohio; three sons, Stephen Joe Newman (Maureen) of Wickenburg, Ariz., Kurt Daniel Newman (Michele) of Cleburne, Texas and Lowell J.C. Newman (Connia) of LaPorte, Texas; six grandchildren, Mark, Gina, Michaele, Kevin, Danielle and Timothy; 10 great-grandchildren, Mathew, Ashley, Allyssa, Sara, Carol, Delanie, Shardae, Jordan, Madison and Adrien; six great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a ton of friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Tim Fred; sisters, Bertha, Violet and Verda; brothers, Floyd, Glen, Evert, and Art; and a grandchild, Jorg.
Memorial services are 2pm Sunday, Sept 4 at Crosier-Pearson Funeral Home, Cleburne, Texas.
