OSTROFSKY, Rachel

The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, AZ Saturday, October 01, 2011 Rachel Ostrofsky, mother of Merlyn Brown of Cottonwood, passed away peacefully in Johannesburg, South Africa, on September 18, 2011 - six days after her 100th birthday. Rachel led a fruitful and generous life, and was married to her late husband Lionel for 71 years when he passed away in 2005 at 96. “Skype” enabled Merlyn to be “present” at both the birthday party for 2 hours, and at the Memorial Service, where she delivered the eulogy. Rachel is survived by Merlyn, grandchildren Lynn, Joffe, Steven Joffe, Layne Cain, and great-grandchild Devon Rinkel. Information provided by family members.
