Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Saturday, October 1, 2011 - Delores Anne DeGreen McGowan Aug. 28, 1931 — Sept. 15, 2011 Anne McGowan, 80, died peacefully at home in Lake Havasu City, of complications due to long term Alzheimer’s Dementia. Anne was born to Al and Lucie De Green on Aug. 28, 1931. She married Donald McGowan on September 2, 1949 in Lordsburg, N.M. Anne graduated from High School in 1948 and later attended University of Arizona. She worked with many organizations, but was most comfortable with Sweet Adeline’s where she sang, directed and traveled many places and won several accolades over a span of 56 wonderful years. She always talked of her precious memories with all the wonderful friends she had met through those years. Anne was a long time resident of both Tucson, Ariz. and San Diego, Calif. Anne is survived by her brother Hal De Green and sister Pamela Cordier. Anne also leaves behind her daughters Donna Russell and Lisa Madruga and son Guy McGowan; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Don McGowan in 2003. Anne has donated her body to Science and her remains will be scattered by family. Anne wishes to thank all of her family and friends throughout her life and the numerous caregivers and staff from her stay at Lakeview Terrace Memory Care Center, the many wonderful people from Hospice of Havasu for all their loving care, tenderness and respect. The family wishes to add an additional thank you to the Alzheimer’s Dementia Connection of Lake Havasu for all of their caring and support. Mom you can now sing with the angels.
