OPLINGER, Jean

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 10/04/2011 Jean Oplinger, 93, of Chandler and formerly of Nutrioso died Sept. 28, 2011, in Mesa. She was born May 18, 1918, in Barberton, Ohio. Jean was president of the Alpine Area Library Friends for two years. She lived in Chandler for two years and six years in Nutrioso. She is survived by her daughter, Merrijo Wheaton and son-in-law George Wheaton, both of Batavia, Ohio; daughter-in-law Kathy Oplinger, of Gilbert; grandsons: Jason R. Brooks of Ashland, Ore., Kenneth Oplinger of Blain, Wash; and Travis Oplinger of Chandler; and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh V. Oplinger, and a son Richard H. Oplinger.
