Sara Chavez De Bonilla, 62, died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011, at her daughter’s home in Pinetop. She was born Jan. 23, 1949, in Guadalajara, Mexico to Carlos Chavez and Maria Gutierrez.
Sara worked for five years at Hon-Dah Casino. She loved to cook for her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Pascual Bonilla of Pinetop; sons: Carlos (Juanita) Chavez, Calif., and Jose Bonilla of Mo.; daughters: Susana (Ezequiel) Sanchez of Lakeside, and Denys (Greg) Chavez of Pinetop; mother Maria Gutierrez; three brothers, three sisters, and eight grandchildren: Priscilla, Dominque, Vivaca, Antonio, Johana, Ezequiel, Tanner, Seth; and great grandchild Angelo.
Sara was preceded in death by her father, Carlos Chavez.
A rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at St. Rita Catholic Church, 1400 E Owens in Pinetop. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, also at the church.
