BALDWIN, George F.


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, October 04, 2011 George F. Baldwin was born in Findley, Ill. He passed into heaven Oct. 1, 2011, in Prescott, Ariz. George retired from the United States Air Force as a flight engineer. He was stationed all over the world and served two tours in Vietnam. He earned the distinguished flying cross, the air medal with five oak leaf clusters, and over 2,000 combat flying hours, unit citation award, and many other medals. Upon retiring, George and his son Terry ran an A/C and heating company for many years in Illinois, moving to Arizona in 1989. George was the maintenance foreman at Young's Farm for a number of years, retiring in 2001. He was a devout Christian and Deacon at Pentecostal Church of God in Prescott Valley. His wife of 48 years preceded him in death. He is survived by sons and their families Terry Baldwin of Prescott Valley, David and Joann Baldwin of Portage, Ind., Tim and Rita Baldwin, and their children, his grandchildren, John and Holly Baldwin of Booty, Ill. Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, from 10 to 11 a.m. with services beginning at 11 a.m. at the Mile High Worship Center, 7605 E Long Look, Prescott Valley, Ariz. Graveside with full military honors will be at 1:30 p.m. at Heritage Memory Gardens, Dewey, Ariz. Arizona Wakelin Bradshaw Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.
